two-thirty appointment

This morning, I went to the dentist.

Never a favourite pastime of mine.

Never a favourite pastime of anybody’s, I’m sure.

I’ve never had particular good gnashers. I think I get that from my mum’s side of the family: most of them have spent a fortune over the years, having ‘work’ done.  (I hasten to add that those teeth in the picture are NOT mine!)

In recent years though, my trips to the dentist haven’t been too bad. The reason for that, I reckon. is that there’s little left in there to drill. I think there is more filling than enamel in there nowadays!

And today wasn’t too bad either as I just had a check-up and clean.  I have never seen it so busy there: it’s half-term and so it was chock full of kids and parents. Nonetheless, my 10:35 appointment was spot on time. Additionally, I have a new dentist: Nancy. I really liked her and will happily visit her again.

In six months.

Yep, every six months I have to go, because my corns are such a mess, I think they are worried that the ones I have remaining, are just gonna fall out.

Which they probably will.

How I laughed at my Mother's false teeth,
As they foamed in the waters beneath,
But now comes the reckonin'
It's me they are beckonin'
Oh, I wish I'd looked after me teeth.

  1. I’m the unfortunate product of terrible dentistry as a child. But years ago I had a bucketful of work done and now my pearlies are all hassle-free
