Friday Night Dinner

Last night, we went out to the pixtures. To see a film.

We went to see Moonfall – a ridiculous piece of hokum about the moon leaving it’s orbit and colliding with the Earth.

Ridiculous as it was, though, I thought it an enjoyable, popcorn munching film, with a reasonable cast and some decent special effects.

And it even included some proper (postulated) science around the hokum: I think that’s the first science fiction film I’ve ever seen based on the notion of a Dyson Sphere.

Back down to earth though, we had some dinner beforehand in Frankie & Benny’s,  which – being a Friday night – was absolutely packed and I was concerned that we hadn’t left enough time to eat and get to the pictures in time. However, I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly our meals were served.  My Sausage and Spicy Meatballs with Rigatoni Pasta was bloody delicious, if not a little pricey for the size of the portion.

A good night out, tempered only by the fact that having been at home all day, Amazon waited until 15 minutes after we had left at 6:30, to try and deliver a package.

Most annoying.

  1. The Dyson Sphere is ok as far as it goes but for my money the Shark cordless is a far better option.

I admire your tenacity visiting the pictures for an evening of entertainment as my recent (we’re talking spread over years) visits to the cinema have been blighted by hobbledehoys around me munching loudly through their takeaway banquets with no regard for fellow film watchers.

I went to see the Stan & Ollie film fairly recently but the sound of some urchin slobbering through Nachos covered in a tomato sauce was too much to bear and voices were raised .

My case comes up next week.

  2. What’s that? Dyson’s only got one ball? But in other news, this sounds exactly like the kind of film that Horror Channel show during the daylight hours. I look forward to seeing it on the little screen in due course.

  3. Aditi warned me just today to not to go to space or I can be sucked in by a blackhole! I am pleased by the fact that Aditi thinks I can go to space 🙂
