Unlike our Prime Minister…

… I unreservedly apologise.

Here we are: February already.
Soon be Christmas.

Of course, as per usual, February brings with it, the chance for you both to read twenty-eight days of pure drivel on these very pages, as once again I inflict upon the blogging world, the internet sensation that is “Masher’s February Blog-A-Thon”.

Such is the popularity of this event, that sometimes upward of three people have been known to take part.

This year though, I think it may just be two: me and everyone’s favourite Rhod Gilbert impersonator – Bren from The Valleys.
Hopefully, our French correspondent will join us, if he can shake off his blogging ennui. We’ll see.

For his part, Bren has pledged to donate to charity for every day he succeeds in writing a post. Good on him and more power to his elbow… or typing fingers.
For my part, I just want to get through this self-imposed punishment… and I usually do, to be fair. That doesn’t stop the encroaching fear as each February approaches though.

The original idea of doing this, when I started it 16 or so years ago, was purely as a challenge. Nowadays, it’s a driver to kickstart my blogging activities, which always wane in the Winter months. And they have certainly waned at the moment. You’ll notice that I couldn’t even be bothered to design a new blogathon header for the month, so I just dragged the old one out instead. Maybe once the ol’ creative juices get flowing… as they say.

In other news: Son has just bought himself a car so that I can take him out for a few driving lessons.
Thank heavens for that…there’s got to be a couple of posts there, surely!

  1. Whatever the drivel it is always nice to start the day with your blog.
This is not my Home Page but is the first page I turn to after booting up.
Good luck with the next 27 days.👍

  2. Of course it wanes in the winter. Sometimes it snows as well. Weally! Good news for Harry being carified. Is his next Christmas (as I’m really informed it will soon be here) present going to be a comprehensive set of tools? Anyway. Good luck to you and all who sail in you. Oh yes.

    • We live in Luton, so he’s probably already tooled up!
Joking aside, I can certainly imagine there will be pre-Christmas trips to our local Halfords.
      Likewise, Bren.
